Blank & Jones – Miracle Cure (The Australian Summer Mixes) (2008)
While it would be hard to outdo the orginal version of this track, and since all the other mixes were complete sh*t, I was extremely happy to recently discover this 2-track set of supplemental remixes. Honestly, I’m not really sure why Blank & Jones entitled this “The Australian Summer Mixes” since the record was released in October; it’s not really summer anywhere on the planet in October, let alone Down Under. Nevertheless, these trancy, robotic mixes, highlighted by the always-droll delivery of Bernard Sumner, certainly have me wishing I was drinking an ice cold gin & tonic on an Australian beach, summer or no summer…
